Good location, easy to find, - basically just opposite the church, with good parking. Smaller than average rooms but it is a piece of history, an historical building adapted to work & it does so just fine. Bed was superb, a rarity in hotels it seems. Good bar & (small) lounge area, very warm & homely with a good feel. Great open fireplace, not lit but a great feature for the winter I'm sure. All staff were extremely welcoming, courteous & friendly. Food excellent & well above pub food standards. Dinner portion on the smaller side but very well presented, adequate & crucially not too heavy. If (like me) you don't have dogs & are worried about the dog friendly aspect, you needn't be, it's not an issue.

Everything about The Dog was gorgeous. The breakfast, the people, the location was wonderful. I had a full English for breakfast because I just love black pudding and a fried slice. my husband had poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. yummy. Our room, although compact, was very tastefully designed and decorated, it had everything we needed. We had a lovely nightcap in the bar when we returned from our night out with family on boxing night, the ambiance was relaxed and friendly, the perfect end to a perfect stay.

The room was immaculate, and the bed was very comfy. The bathroom was also spotless. The staff where exceptionally polite and made us feel very welcome. The food was incredible, we had dinner and breakfast, the dinner was one of the best meals I have had in years, and I could not fault the breakfast at all. 10/10, we will stay again and I would definitely recommend to others.

Easy access with a good rear car park. Lovely welcoming staff on arrival, large bar and a very comfy room. No road noise in the room, and had all the facilities required. The absolute stand out was the food - my dinner truly surpassed my expectations! Great, attentive service, a details menu and delicious food - excellent.

We have stayed at The Dog on several occasions when we visit family in the village. The staff always look after us. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The rooms are quirky. The food is delicious and not overpriced. We were upgraded for this visit to the four poster room; which was lovely. Thank you to all the team.
